Kevin Valvano, DO, FAOASM

Board-Certified in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Occupational Medicine

Dr. Kevin Valvano is a triple board-certified physician in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Occupational Medicine with extensive experience in treating athletes of all levels. Drawing from his background as a former multi-sport athlete, he has a unique understanding of injury recovery and rehabilitation. Dr. Valvano currently serves as a team physician for USA Weightlifting and USA Gymnastics. He also holds a certification in Performing Arts Medicine, providing specialized care to dancers, musicians, and artists. His patient-centered approach focuses on recovery, performance, and injury prevention for individuals of all ages.

Dr. Valvano integrates Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) into his practice to improve mobility, relieve pain, and support the body’s natural healing. OMT uses gentle stretching, resistance, and manipulation to treat conditions affecting the muscles, joints, and nerves, making it especially valuable for athletes, performers, and those with musculoskeletal issues. He holds advanced certifications in fascial treatments and cranial-sacral techniques and is dedicated to ongoing education to provide the highest quality care.

Faith plays a central role in Dr. Valvano’s life and practice. Guided by his Christian values, he views medicine not just as a profession but as a calling to serve others with compassion, integrity, and excellence. His faith shapes his holistic, patient-centered approach, ensuring that each individual is cared for with dedication and respect.

Originally from Whippany, New Jersey, Dr. Valvano leads an active lifestyle rooted in his lifelong love of sports. He enjoys hockey, running, scuba diving, skiing, and soccer, and cherishes time spent with his wife and three children. He believes strongly in patient education, collaboration, and building meaningful relationships, always tailoring treatments to each individual’s unique needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
